My guy is about 6-7" long and I have some algae wafers for him. I drop a couple in the tank and the problem is, 1. he won't come out to eat until dark, 2. the other fish eat them. So obviously the solution is to drop the wafers when the lights go out, right? Then it seems that they just are mushy in the gravel the next day....
I would feel awful if he starved or was hungry and I didn't know it. Because he likes to stay hidden, (shy I guess?) its hard to see or know if he's skinny....
tonight I will try the mushroom idea, maybe zuchinni next time....

You make no mention of what type of pleco. Are you sure its a vegetarian and not an omnivore or carnivore?
